Invisalign is a popular and proven orthodontic technique for straightening teeth. At Family Dental Centre, we are highly experienced in the system and our expert dentists train and mentor other clinicians. Invisalign corrects everything from overbites to crooked or gap teeth with a series of discreet wire-free aligners that gently and gradually reposition your teeth. The aligners are worn 22 hours a day and are only taken out to eat and brush.

Your treatment begins with a detailed consultation, during which we take 3D digital scans and share a before-and-after simulation of your smile. A sequence of bespoke aligners moves your teeth accurately in planned stages under the supervision of your dentist. When the treatment’s complete, we follow up with a retention plan, so you can be confident of permanently straight teeth.

How do clear aligners work?

Your dentist will take an impression of your teeth from which a series of custom-made aligners are produced. The aligners are made from a clear, strong plastic which sit around your teeth gently moving their position. Every two weeks the aligners are replaced by the next in the sequence until eventually your teeth are in the desired position

Can you see the aligners?

The aligners are made from a clear plastic and some people may not even notice you are wearing them. Our patients prefer these to traditional orthodontics as it means no metal train tracks.

How long do I need to wear the aligners for?

The aligners can be easily removed for brushing your teeth, eating and even special occasions meaning they fit in with your lifestyle, however, frequently not wearing the aligners can slow down the teeth straightening progress so we advise you have them in as much as possible.

How long does it take?

Treatment time depends on the complexity of the treatment but teeth straightening with clear aligners can take as little as 4 months. The average treatment time is between 6-12 months.

How much does it cost?

The price of treatment depends of the complexity of the case and your dentist will discuss this with your after consultation.
